VoxOx Enters Worldwide Consumer Market as First and Only "Universal Communicator Service"

November 03, 2008

New service in beta brings voice, video, IM, text, social media, e-mail, fax and File Sharing together to help consumers take control of their interconnected lifestyles

SAN DIEGO – November 3, 2008 – TelCentris, Inc., a new type of telephony company based in San Diego, today announced that it has launched the public beta of its free consumer service, VoxOx, which unifies today’s key communication channels – voice, video, IM, text, social media, e-mail, fax and more – into a single, intuitive user interface. VoxOx gives consumers full control of their contacts, conversations and most importantly, their interconnected lifestyles. As the first and only true “Universal Communicator Service,” VoxOx combines the benefits of Internet-telephony/VoIP solutions, interoperable Instant Messengers (IMs), social networking aggregators, inbound call management programs and much more for free, thereby enabling budget-conscious consumers to never have to pay for a phone call or text again!

Too many connections?

Nielsen reports a 450 percent increase in the number of text messages sent or received in the past two years. During the same timeframe, daily usage of social networking sites has nearly doubled among college students, according to a study by EDUCAUSE. The Radicati Group estimates that the worldwide number of IM accounts will grow 60 percent to 1.7 billion between 2007 and 2011, while global e-mail, now at 210 billion per day, is expected to hit 297 billion by 2010 – a 41 percent increase.

“We are connected to so many people through so many channels that communication is becoming increasingly unmanageable in today’s media-centric society,” said Bryan Hertz, CEO of TelCentris. “The typical consumer, ages 14 to 45, wakes up and moves from Facebook, to Skype, to Blackberry or iPhone, to Gmail and Google Talk, to MySpace, to YouTube to Yahoo Messenger, to a landline phone, and then back again. This communications frenzy has created a need for a single tool to manage all connections and contacts so that consumers can take control of their interconnected lifestyle. That’s why we’ve created VoxOx!”

“Disparate communication tools are converging and it’s becoming apparent that the most open, interoperable and easiest-to-use service will be the most successful,” said Keith Nissen, senior analyst at In-Stat. “From what I’ve seen, VoxOx looks very promising.”

VoxOx features

Although initially targeted at Millenials and GenXers, VoxOx is a powerful tool for everyone, regardless of age. Better yet, it does not require giving up any of the users’ existing communication networks and provides a sophisticated global phone accessible from any device at little or no cost. TelCentris Engine

In order to viably offer VoxOx for free to tens of millions of users, parent company TelCentris has engineered and deployed its own proprietary service delivery platform. This award-winning “Unified Communications Engine” offers more types of communication services than competitive offerings. In addition, it is as robust and scalable as any service delivery platform on the market but without the layer of per-seat licensing fees typically charged by competitive solutions.

VoxOx is a free downloadable software application and service that runs on Windows and Macintosh (Mac) operating systems. Its telephony services are provided via the Internet, thereby eliminating costly local loops that result when using incumbent telephone companies. VoxOx is available for download at www.voxox.com.
