April 21, 2009

VoxOx brings voice, video, IM, text, social media, e-mail, fax and File Sharing together to help consumers take control of their interconnected lifestyles

SAN DIEGO – April 21, 2009 – TelCentris, Inc., a new type of telephony company based in San Diego, announced today that its free consumer service, VoxOx, has been nominated as a Favorite Desktop/End User Software alongside major brands, including Firefox, Adobe, Microsoft, and others in the first ever People’s Choice Stevie Awards. Award results are based on a public vote, open now through June 1. The Stevie Awards organization will choose two voters at random in early June to receive a $1,000 Amazon.com gift card.

VoxOx, which is currently in beta, unifies today’s key communication channels – voice, video, IM, text, social media, e-mail, fax and more – into a single, intuitive user interface. As the first and only true “Universal Communicator Service,” VoxOx combines the benefits of Internet-telephony/VoIP solutions, interoperable Instant Messengers (IMs), social networking aggregators, inbound call management programs and much more for free.

“This award nomination is especially important to us as the outcome is determined by positive feedback from our users,” said Bryan Hertz, CEO of TelCentris. “With the increasing number of communication channels, there’s a need for a single tool that manages all connections and contacts and ultimately makes life easier. VoxOx addresses this issue of communication overload – if the public selected us for this award, the validation would be an honor.”

Since its launch in November 2008, VoxOx has been listening closely to user feedback. In February 2009, VoxOx unveiled a revamped Web site based on user comments, as well as a CEO blog – Take Control Blog by Bryan Hertz, and is currently working on further service enhancements. Most recently, VoxOx upgraded its VoxPoints program, which allows users to purchase talk time for rates cheaper than most leading industry players – such as $.01 per minute for U.S./Canada and some international calls. VoxOx continues to provide two hours of free U.S./Canada calls to new users, and two additional hours for each friend referral upon sign up.

To vote for VoxOx, visit http://peopleschoice.stevieawards.com between today and June 1, 2009, select “Favorite Desktop/End User Software” category and select “TelCentris’ VoxOx ‘Universal Communicator Service’”. Winners of the People’s Choice Stevie Awards for Favorite New Products will be determined in early June and honored at the ABA’s seventh annual awards gala in New York on June 22.
